JMI to set up Department of Library and Information Science, first major expansion in the discipline since 1985

Jamia Millia Islamia will soon establish a Department of Library and Information Science. The Union Ministry of Education recently approved six teaching posts. This will boost the university’s academic offerings. The university has been running the Bachelor of Library and Information Science course since 1985. The new department will train the next generation of librarians.
